Thomas L. Gase

Thomas L. Gase, 84, of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at the Adams Memorial Hospital. Tom was born in Decatur on September 9, 1941, son of Ambrose L. and Annabelle (Rupert) Gase. On June 29, 1968, he married Dusty A. Collins.

Tom was a member of Grace First Community Church, formerly First United Methodist Church. He retired as a machinist from General Electric after 23 years and from C.T.S. after 8 years of service. He was also a member of the Rifle Club.

He is survived by his wife, Dusty A. Gase of Decatur; 2 daughters, Beverly Reed of Decatur and Melissa (John) Allen of South Bend; a brother, Kenneth E. (Laura) Gase of Decatur; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Diane Gephart.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026 at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home with calling prior from 10:00 – 1:00 p.m. Pastor Steve Austin and Pastor Harold Klinker presiding.

Burial will take place at Decatur Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be given to Grace First Church (Brianne’s Hope) or ACCF Angel Heart Fund.
