Todd A. Hawkins

Todd A. Hawkins, 58, of Decatur, IN passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at his residence. Todd was born in Decatur on February 3, 1965 to W. Emmitt and Linda L. (Cunningham) Hawkins. On November 29, 1985, he married Debora K. LaFontaine.

Todd was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. He was a 1983 graduate of Crestview High School. Todd retired after 30 years with B.F. Goodrich.

Todd was an exceptional father and husband.  He loved spending time with his grandkids, they were his world. You could always find him tinkering around outside.  He loved being outdoors, in the woods, fishing, and gardening.  When an Ohio State football game was televised you could always find him front and center cheering them on.

He is survived by is wife of 37 years, Debora K. Hawkins of Decatur; his mother, Linda Hawkins of Decatur; 2 children, Jessica L. (Braidon) Harris of Monroe and Ethan A. (Katie Mahlan) Hawkins of Decatur; 5 grandchildren, Dominic, Chevelle and Halle Harris, Gavin, and Harper Hawkins and 1 on the way; a brother Rod (Maggie) Hawkins of Decatur; 2 sisters, Polly (Barry) Kraus of Clearwater, FL and Jenny (Tim) Nicely of Payne, OH.

He was preceded in death by his father W. Emmitt Hawkins.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2023 at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Father David Ruppert presiding, and visitation will be prior from 9:00 -10:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Parish Hall. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stillwater Hospice or St. Joseph Catholic School.
