William Lichtle Obituary

William A. “Bill” Lichtle, 86, of Decatur, IN passed away on July 9, 2022 at Cedarhurst of Ft. Wayne. Bill was born on August 27, 1935 in Decatur to the late Adrian J. and Agnes (Meyer) Lichtle. On February 15, 1958, Bill married Mary A. Heimann; she preceded him in death on June, 30, 2020.

Bill was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. He had worked for Hagerman Construction Associates, was a Federal Grain Inspector, worked as a Branch manager for Kaiser Agricultural and was a partner in Hakes and Lichtle Remodeling.

Bill farmed and loved hunting and fishing and most of all loved serving and assisting friends and neighbors with construction and repair projects. Bill and Mary had wintered in Sebring, Florida for many years. Bill loved his grandchildren and valued the time he was able to spend with each one of them.

Bill is survived by 2 sons, John W. (Sandra) Lichtle of Indianapolis, IN and Roger P. (Melissa) Lichtle of Decatur, IN; 2 daughters, Victoria F. (Brian) Coats of Anthem, AZ and Carolyn M. (Douglas) Yoder of Hoagland, IN; 2 brothers, Kenneth (Nancy) Lichtle and Chris (Wava) Lichtle both of Decatur, IN; 3 sisters, Shirley Shaffer of Decatur, IN, Ruth Pehlke of Ft. Wayne, IN and Mary Ellen (Kerry) Burger of Pauls Valley, OK; 9 grandchildren, Stacey Lichtle, Justin (Olivia) Lichtle, Jason (Karen) Raudenbush, Katherine Coats, Ryan Yoder, Reid (Cayla) Yoder, Rachel (Greg) Peterson, Sarah (Cody) Hess and Abigail (Jacob) Fry; 8 great grandchildren and 1 great son on the way.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 4:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2022 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Father Lee Allen Fortin officiating and burial following in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Preferred Memorials are to St. Joseph Catholic School or Adams County Cancer Coalition.
